Knock On Wood is another print of one of my sculptures. It happens to be the door knocker to my studio, cast in bronze. It tells the story of wood engraving: My hand holds one of my burins (wood engraving tool), my arm is molded from a piece of boxwood (the optimal wood for blocks) and the strike plate is molded from a large slab of end grain wood (blocks are made from the end grain---wood cut on the other hand are made from the planks).
