This was my apprentice piece, my very first engraving. In 1976 approached Stefan Martin in his studio during a studio tour and asked if he took on apprentices. He said "no." I didn't give up and after getting to know him a bit better, showed him a pen and ink drawing of a banged up, beat up feather I had done and I became his only apprentice in the many years that followed. Stefan was only 54 when he died in a boating accident in 1994. He was one of the most remarkable artists I have every had the pleasure to associate with. Check out the memorial print I did for him- "Stefan Martin."
I only have a few AP's of this. The original edition was only 25.
